Meyer Vandenberg received some sad news this week. Rudi Vandenberg passed away on Saturday 2nd Nov 2019.
This is a sad occasion for the MV family, and we respectfully pass on our condolences to all that knew him.
Apart from being a part of our firm’s name, Rudi Vandenberg was, of course, a part of our firm’s history. According to our firm records, Rudi Vandenberg has the distinction of merging legal practices with both of our pre-merger firms, Meyer Clapham and Vandenberg Reid.
In the mid-1970s, Rudi established Vandenberg & Co, which merged with Derwin Reid on 1 July 1981 to create Vandenberg Reid Pappas and Macdonald. After taking some time away from the law in the mid-1980s, he recommenced work as a lawyer in the late 1980s with Vandenberg Reid’s blessing. This practice, run out of legendary premises in Fyshwick, was acquired by Meyer Boettcher Clapham in 2002.
Rudi is very much a part of our legal DNA, his specialty was Property Law.
May he rest in peace.
