Privacy laws start today

Who does this affect? Businesses and Commonwealth government agencies and bodies that collect, use, store or disclose personal information, including names, e-mail addresses and other information about customers, clients and suppliers.

What do you need to do? Consider letting your customers, clients and suppliers know about your new privacy policy.

The new privacy laws start today, Wednesday, 12 March 2014

By now, your organisation or agency should have a new or updated privacy policy that complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If not, you should seek advice urgently.

We can help. We have privacy packages that can be customised to suit your organisation’s or agency’s needs, as well as a range of supporting documents, compliance checklists and training packages.

Let your customers and clients know about your new privacy policy

One of the goals of the APPs is that businesses and agencies should handle personal information in an open and transparent manner.

In order to achieve this, many businesses and agencies are letting their customers, clients and suppliers know about their new privacy policies.

If you would like to do this, consider communicating your new policy using a simple note like the one below.
