[title] => Employment and Workplace Relations
[body] =>
Our Employment and Workplace Relations Team takes a pragmatic, whole-of-business approach to our client’s employment and industrial relations issues and we work closely with other business advisers to provide practical advice and cost–effective solutions.
We primarily advise employers in the private, public and not-for profit sectors in relation to effective people management, with a focus on avoiding legal action and compliance with current workplace laws.
Management of an organisation’s people is crucial to its success. We help our clients to understand their employment obligations and the impact of those obligations on the organisation. While our focus is on avoiding conflict in the workplace and facilitating productive relations, our team has considerable experience in enforcing the rights of employers in various tribunals.
Our expertise includes:
-
Advising on the requirements of workplace laws relevant to the organisation and how best to meet these
-
Preparing and advising on appropriate documentation including employment contracts, Award interpretation, enterprise agreements, CEO service agreements and incentive and bonus arrangements
-
Advising on people management including policies and procedures, Work Health and Safety duties for the organisation and its officers, discrimination, performance management, termination of employment and HR Governance issues
-
Protection of an organisation’s goodwill including restraints of trade and confidentiality obligations
-
Advising and representing organisations in circumstances involving unfair dismissal, workplace rights and other employment- related claims
Our employment team also provides:
-
Employment law workshops for clients and industry groups
-
Special interest discussion groups on current employment law and HR issues facilitated by us
-
Employment E-briefs with regular updates on recent legislation, cases and other relevant developments
