[title] => Supporting Our Community
[body] =>
Each year our people select a charity to champion. Our focus is on not-for-profit organisations or groups that operate in the Canberra region. OzHarvest and Sids for Kids ACT are examples of local charities we have supported in the past.
Meyer Vandenberg’s chosen charity for 2011-2012 is Galilee. Galilee facilitates the placement of babies, children and young people with foster care families in Canberra. Many of these children have experienced unimaginable abuse or neglect, and Galilee works hard to train carers and case workers so that they are able to confidently support children who find themselves in such difficult circumstances.
Our firm has taken a holistic approach to supporting our community by making charitable donations, but also encouraging our staff to undertake volunteer work and support future fundraising events.
In addition to our charitable work, we are significantly involved in the community in a number of ways. We support the ANU Debating Society, ACT Budget Breakfast, run a monthly Strata Legal Café and host meetings for the Canberra Business Council. We are also closely associated with organisations such as the MBA, HIA, AHA and Property Council of Australia. Our firm is dedicated to positively contributing to all aspects of our community.
